City of Charlottesville

The area of Downtown Charlottesville is the center of all the action. The focus of this area is split between UVA and the Downtown Mall, with many fine restaurants, shops and business in between. The entire area is filled with culture, and is the main attraction for Central Virginia. Many neighborhoods are located close to the downtown such as Rugby Hills, Fry Springs, North Downtown and Belmont to name a few. 


Keswick

Keswick is a suburban area located east of Charlottesville. Keswick is a beautiful area filled with farmland, horses, vineyards and history. Many communities have been built in this area to take advantage of its surroundings, and it’s close proximity to Charlottesville. This area has great access to Charlottesville by two major thoroughfares, Rte. 250 and Rte. 64, and is only 7 miles away.


Crozet

Crozet is a beautiful town located in Western Albemarle at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This established growth area is located 12 miles from downtown Charlottesville. The quaint downtown area consists of local shops and businesses, and new shopping centers have opened minutes away. Crozet offers a mixture of both new and established communities. Crozet also boasts beautiful farmland, golfing, and wineries; all with magnificent mountain views.


Ivy

Ivy is a prestigious area located just west of Charlottesville. This location is the closest suburban area to the University of Virginia in Albemarle County. Most of the neighborhoods in Ivy are well established and offer both convenience with luxury. Ivy is also home to spacious estates, horse farms, and even the Foxfield races, a semi-annual steeple chase. This beautiful area is mostly established, but new communities are available in this area as well.


Northern Albemarle

North of Charlottesville on Rte. 29 is a vibrant and growing location. This location is close to the airport, and provides ample shopping as well as major employers such as GE and NGIC. This is an established growth area with many new communities, and new businesses taking shape. Many established communities are benefiting from the increased demand to live in this area.


Rio Road

Rio Road East encompasses the neighborhoods that have been established directly north of Charlottesville on Rio Road before the Rte. 29 intersection. Rio Road, an extension of Park Street, feeds directly into downtown Charlottesville. This area is convenient to UVA, Downtown Charlottesville, and shopping on Rte. 29, while providing a suburban atmosphere. This area also has easy access to Pen Park and the Meadow Creek golf course. Communities off Rio Road are both established, new and expanding.
